Introduction to Probability and Statistics (BSC-301)
Program: B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering(Cyber Security)
Category: Basic Science Course
Semester: 3
Credits: 3
L-T-P: 3- 0- 0
Description
Introduction to Probability and Statistics provides foundational knowledge in statistical reasoning and data analysis. The course introduces key concepts such as descriptive statistics, probability theory, random variables, probability distributions, sampling, estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression. Emphasis is placed on both theoretical understanding and practical application, equipping students with the skills needed to collect, analyze, interpret, and present data effectively. By the end of the course, students will be able to make informed decisions using statistical methods and apply probability models to solve real-world problems across various disciplines.
