Geosynthetics Engineering (CE-702(B))
Program: B.Tech Civil Engineering
Category: Professional Elective Course
Semester: 7
Credits: 3
L-T-P: 2- 1- 0
Description
It reduces maintenance costs and increases life. It has excellent flexibility, stress-strain behaviour, filtration characteristics. It is widely available, welded together, and doesn't form by-products. It saves substantial costs as well as the time over alternative solutions. Placing flexible geosynthetic material like a geotextile between two properties creates a separating layer ensuring both materials can remain intact or improved. The common applications are the optimization of paved roads, unpaved roads, and railroad bases.
